It seems that Las Vegas is no longer the only desert of fun and adventure in the world. Saudi Arabia is planning to build the world’s largest hotel in the holy city of Mecca.
The hotel, ‘Abraj Kudai’ should be ready in 2017 and is said to be another significant step towards a ‘Mecca-hattan’. It will consist of 12 towers, 10 of which will feature 4-star accommodation and the remaining two will be for 5-star guests.
The hotel boasts of a colossal 10,000 rooms, 70 restaurants, 4 helipads, shopping malls and a lavish ballroom. The hotel’s floor area will cover approximately 1.4 million square feet and it will rise 45 storeys high by the time it opens next year. A dome located on top of two mid towers will house a ballroom and the convention centre.
The hotel will feature luxury rooms for wealthy pilgrims and separate floors for the Saudi royal family. Tourists can expect unparalleled levels of luxury and hospitality here.
When it does open, the Abraj Kudai will overtake the current world’s largest hotel, The First World Hotel in Malaysia.
