Anusha Naiknaware, is an eight grader from Portland, Oregon.
As as a part of her project – Smart wound care for the future, she created a bandage that would help wounds heal faster.
So what really got her to start this project is her realization of the number of people that die due to injuries than HIV, Malaria, and tuberculosis combined.
She thus created a bandage that helps sense moisture in a wound dressing which in turn alerts doctors and health care officials to change the bandage at the right time.
She also explains that this can be used in a commercial setting, a hospital setting, and more. The possibilities seem endless.
