Terrariums: The Best Way To Bring Nature’s Beauty Indoors

The cities of the world are getting increasingly congested and polluted day by day. Those of us with green thumbs are often disappointed with the lack of minimal garden space.

A terrarium is a wonderful way to create your own mini-world full of lush green and beautiful plants. They are easy-to-make, low maintenance gardens that can last almost indefinitely with minimal water.

Basically, a terrarium is a collection of small plants growing in a transparent, sealed
container. These miniature indoor gardens can actually be used to illustrate how an ecosystem works.

The supplies that you would need to build your terrarium include a glass or plastic container, rocks, moss, soil and plants that don’t overgrow. Spoons for placing the soil and tweezers for putting materials into the vessel can also come in handy.

While choosing the plants for your terrarium, avoid ones that grow too fast. The frequently recommended plants include African Violets, Begonias, Club mosses, Ferns, Orchids and Succulents among others.

You can also use a variety of containers for your terrariums like goldfish bows, coffee pots, glass candy jars and fish tanks with lights.

There is no doubt that indoor plants do help to purify and humidify the air. Apart from that, terrariums really do bring health, peace, inspiration and the joy of nature at home or at the workplace.
