The fear of crossing bridges or gephyrophobia is very common today. While some folks are afraid to cross bridges that are over water, others simply get nervous driving across an overpass.

Although not all of us would be intimidated while crossing a bridge, there are some truly terrifying bridges that nobody with a right mind would want to cross.

Sidu River Bridge, China

Standing at 1500 feet tall, the Sidu River Bridge is the highest in the world. If you’re scared of heights, you might require a parachute instead of a seat belt.

Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge, USA

Louisiana’s Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is the longest bridge over water in the world. The bridge stretches for about 25 miles across the lake and is 25 feet above the water.

Langkawi Sky Bridge, Malaysia

This is a curved cable-stayed bridge and is one of the longest of its kind. This pedestrian bridge is 125 meters long and at an altitude of 700 meters offers breathtaking views.
