World’s Largest Pyramid Is Hidden Inside A Mountain

Archaeology is a very interesting and intriguing field as it helps us discover amazing facts about the past. The pyramids for one have revealed the secrets of some of the world’s ancient civilizations.

A lot of us might be under the impression that the Great Pyramid of Giza is the world’s largest pyramid. But the title should actually go to the Great Pyramid of Cholula, in Puebla, Mexico.

The Great Pyramid of Cholula was an ancient temple used by the Aztecs and was built in several stages. Its not just a single pyramid, but six layers built on top of each other. Being 1,500 feet wide and over 200 meters tall, it is four times larger than the Great Pyramid at Giza.

This pyramid is actually the largest known man-made monument found so far. However, you wouldn’t realize that it’s a pyramid at first glance. It is concealed by the grass, trees and soil, and there is even a tiny church on top of it.
